Dr. Andreas Demuth
At HUFELAND, we understand the importance of simultaneous support for the patient´s system while undergoing any cytoreductive therapy like chemotherapy, radiation, hyperthermia etc. Conventional oncology and naturopathic treatment options complement each other, and so quite often the patient´s system can come to and keep balance. This regularly results in regaining a significant quality of life. And the additional activation of the patient´s immune system often lets the disease turn into remission.
For all those - usually very sensitive - cancer patients, who struggle with intolerance of conventional dosages and/or are suffering from severe side effects, we have developed dose-adapted protocols for most cancer diseases. Especially in combination with local Hyperthermia (@111 °F) these “low-dose chemo” protocols represent a promising alternative treatment option for this increasing group of cancer patients. Chemo sensitivity tests in addition may help in finding the most effective drugs, both conventional and naturopathic.
HUFELAND emphasizes the importance of synchronizing different therapies. This is why we keep our house open as an inpatient facility. Cytoreductive treatments, detoxification, immune stimulating therapies (like mistletoe, thymus, or active healing fever therapy with Coley´s toxins) need to be precisely adjusted in order to see the desired results. At this point, the individual patient benefits from the long experience of our medical staff. Our doctors realize that every cancer situation is singular, usually implements the whole person, and therefore should not be treated acc. to a general protocol which is based on statistics alone.

Dr. Andreas Demuth, MD
Dr. Demuth is a board certified Specialist for Internal Medicine. In the 1980ies he has studied human medicine at the University of Erlangen, Bavaria, and graduated in 1989.
Following a long conventional journey, which had led him from Diabetology and Cardiology to Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine, he finally joined HUFELAND clinic in early 2002. Hence, he has specialized in the field of Holistic Oncology by hands-on experience, studying more than 14,000 worldwide cancer cases day-by-day.
Dr. Demuth has treated more than 3,500 cancer patients of all stages. Patients from more than 80 different countries have already found medical help and advice in this small German hospital. In his therapeutic approach, he has learned to combine necessary conventional cancer treatments with the essentials of naturopathic medicine. He never tires of emphasizing that in times of standard high-dose chemo protocols and other, often risky, cytoreductive treatments, it has virtually become inevitable and equally important to preserve and improve the quality of human self-healing resources.
Demuth´s mission is to help cancer patients struggling with the single-edged conventional cancer therapies by significantly reducing their side effects, activating the patient´s self-healing capacities, and thus improving their individual chances and clinical outcome. His general vision extends to a future medicine that will implement both the advantages of modern evidence-based medicine and understanding the patient´s system as an active part of any therapeutic approach.
