A body that is fighting disease requires all of its resources to regain health. There are many ways in which you can do this. One well-known practice is to commit to eating clean, organic, and unprocessed food. Another is to detox the body. As you begin to do these things, taking the time to detox your environment is a valuable and important step to take as well.

In today’s world it is increasingly difficult to avoid environmental hazards, yet it is still relatively easy to make your home a safe haven from many of them. (Some toxins to look out for include  air fresheners, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, as well as toxic detergents and cosmetics.)

One of the important environmental hazards to be aware of is unnatural electromagnetic fields (EMFs) that are produced by electrically charged objects.

What does this mean? Aren’t there electromagnetic fields everywhere?

The answer is yes – but not all are created equal. The types of electromagnetic fields that pose a danger are extremely different from the natural  EMFs produced by the sun and earth. Radiation from these fields can present significant health risks, which is why it’s important to take measures to limit your exposure to EMF radiation in as many ways as possible.

Start by trying to limit your exposure to smart meters (smart meters are wireless electronic devices that record the consumption of electric energy), radio stations, electrical generators, power lines, and cell phone antennas.

Additional sources of EMFs that you may want to limit your exposure to include digital alarm clocks, wireless modems/routers, cordless phones, fluorescent lights, and gaming consoles.

Start where you can and don’t be overwhelmed!

Here are some easy ways you can begin to limit your EMF exposure at home:

– Keep appliances and devices off, or on airplane mode as much as possible.
– Hardwire internet connections, rather than using WiFi. If WiFi usage is necessary, turn it on only when in use, and turn off the WiFi router at night.
– Keep all electronic devices away from your body as much as possible, especially when sleeping.

-Stop using the microwave.  Microwave ovens are another big source of EMF exposure. While they seem harmless, microwaves cook food differently than traditional cooking methods and can pose some health concerns.

Microwaves change the molecular structure of food through a process of radiation, which cooks the food at very high temperatures in a very short amount of time. This results in a tremendous loss of nutrients and can produce carcinogenic toxins in more ways than one.
