Mebendazole is generally well-tolerated, but like any medication, it can cause side effects in some people. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain, which are usually mild and temporary.

In rare cases, individuals may experience allergic reactions such as itching, rash, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. Severe allergic reactions are very rare but can be serious and require immediate medical attention.

Additionally, mebendazole can rarely cause liver problems, which may manifest as yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, or abdominal pain.

If any signs of liver problems occur, it's essential to stop taking mebendazole and seek medical advice.

Some individuals may also experience central nervous system effects such as dizziness, headache, or drowsiness.

If severe or persistent side effects develop while taking mebendazole, prompt medical attention is necessary.
