The medical care I received from you was the best I have ever experienced in my entire life, by far. Please give my sincere thanks to all who cared for me in every capacity. Everyone was great!I especially want to thank Dr. El-Idrissi for the extra attention in addressing the blood clots, and doing the follow-up ultrasound to make sure everything was okay, and also for going to the extra effort of writing the discharge letter in English. Before coming to your clinic I had consulted with four different urologists, and after only a few minutes of talking with Dr. El-Idrissi, it became quite clear his extensive knowledge, experience and competence was far ahead of the others. I feel most fortunate to have been treated by him.And, I want to thank you Ashleigh, from the bottom of my heart, for the care and kindness you showed me on my last day at the clinic. When I tell friends and family of my experiences, and come to the part about you walking me to my hotel at night, carrying my bags, making sure I was safely settled into my room, and then later that night calling to check on me and offer another ultrasound at the clinic… I become emotionally choked-up and unable to finish the sentence without my voice cracking. Such caring and kindness in healthcare is not only uncommon here in the United States, it is unheard of. I will never forget your kindness.A special thank you, as well, to Charlotte for her diligent help arranging and facilitating prompt treatment. Compared to what has been my experience here, it seemed nothing short of miraculous. Since learning of my elevated PSA last May, I have been frustrated at every turn trying to move forward with diagnosis and treatment. I had to fight just to get an MRI and then wait over three weeks for the first available appointment, then wait again, this time two and a half months for biopsy, then wait again for PSMA scan, and so on… it felt like trudging waist-deep through thick mud. Upon initial contact with Charlotte, it seemed too good to be true to have someone actually reply in a timely manner and then put forth all efforts required to arrange prompt treatment, guiding me through the process at every step. Many, many thanks!Please thank Veronika too. Her attentiveness, care, concern and kindness were exceptional and very much appreciated! Thanks to the Anesthesiologist and MRI people… your work was nothing short of perfection.Last, but not least, please convey my appreciation to Prof. Dr. Stehling for establishing the Institute and advocating for these new and better treatments. I would have never known about your clinic if I had not stumbled upon one of his videos on YouTube. The picture of my future life painted by all the doctors here was bleak and hopeless — radical surgery, radiation and hormone deprivation, along with accompanying damage and long-term side effects. It was a future I did not want to live. For six months I felt like I was trapped inside a dark room with no way out. Learning about IRE and then Photodynamic Therapy, the light came on, and the alternative, better future presented itself. Thank you for restoring hope to my life!Deciding to travel half way around the world to receive treatment from you, I think will turn out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. Time will tell. The medical team was not only professional and experienced, but also compassionate and attentive to his needs. They provided detailed information about treatment options and helped us make informed decisions. I also felt supported as a wife and reassured that we were in good hands. I don't usually do reviews, but having read one or two comments on this Clinic, I felt compelled to share my experiences at this clinic myself, which were 100% positive in every aspect. My Treatment was in Sept/October 2020. Naturally I was very nervous about this procedure, and wanted a thorough explanation of it, and what it entailed. When I arrived at the Vitus Clinic, which was also in the middle of the Covid crisis, which was also a clearly difficult time for the staff and patients to contend with. I was received with respect, and found the clinic staff to be very professional, and after my initial review, I met with the senior consultant and his urologist the following day, and everything was explained to me about the procedure to remove my tumours from the prostate. Having been given a full appraisal of my situation, I then had a full set of biopsies taken of the prostate, and it was found that I had 9 tumours, and after a necessary time for the prostate to settle down from the biopsies taken, all were successfully removed with the IRE Poration treatment. I was advised that my PSA would spike immediately after my treatment, which it did, and I had another scan before I was discharged from the clinic, but following further PSA's post treatment, as the surgeons there advised it should, my PSA went down to below 1, which has shown from time to time very small variations since then, but has remained very low. Apart from the surgeons themselves, who are an amazing team of people, I would give particular praise to the nursing staff at this clinic, as I found them to be very thorough in their day to day care of me, and I would recommend anybody that has issues with their prostate to consider this clinic very seriously, as they certainly know their stuff.
