Are there any clinical trials for high-dose Vitamin C IV therapy?

I'm interested in the potential benefits of high-dose Vitamin C IV therapy and want to know more about its efficacy. Are there any clinical trials for high-dose Vitamin C IV therapy, and what have they discovered?

One study done in the early 2000s compared cancer patients who took vitamin C orally versus those who received it intravenously and found that the patients who received the IV produced much higher plasma and urine concentrations with potential antitumor activity.

In 2022, a series of pre-clinical and clinical trials using IV Vitamin C led researchers to conclude that “a large body of evidence is accumulating suggesting that Vitamin C when administered intravenously and in high doses, has potent cancer-selective cytotoxic, cancer-therapy sensitizing and toxicity-reducing properties.”

Thanks in no small part to all of the potential discovered in these studies, The Mayo Clinic has announced they are now conducting a randomized double-blind Phase 2 clinical trial to study the benefits of using high-dose IVC in combination with chemotherapy. Results are expected to be published in March 2026.
