How safe is Fenbendazole?

While I do have cancer, I'm not sure I feel very comfortable with the risk of taking drugs meant for animals. The doctors may not be able to help me, but I prefer not to make myself even sicker. However, I've noticed some terminally ill people claiming that fenbendazole works for them, and one even said that he was cured by it. How true is this? Is fenbendazole really safe to use?

Fenbendazole is an animal medication, not approved for use in humans, and there are limited studies on its use in humans.  There are many patients who use Fenbendazole with no apparent ill effects.

The most frequently reported side effects are stomach upset, diarrhea, and an increase in liver enzymes.  Although there are anecdotal reports of cancer “cure” by patients who say that Fenbendazole worked for them, and preclinical studies suggesting that Fenbendazole may be effective against some types of cancer, there are no human clinical trials proving that Fenbendazole is effective for the treatment of cancer.

Fenbendazole is a medication in the drug class of benzimidazoles, which also includes the human medications mebendazole and albendazole.  Fenbendazole and mebendazole are very similar, with one sulfur like molecule being the difference between them.

There are many integrative physicians who do prescribe Mebendazole for their patients with cancer due to its potential benefits, and it has come to be considered as a safe and well tolerated medication for most.  Mebendazole is expensive and must be prescribed by a MD, which is why many cancer patients are taking Fenbendazole instead.

Since Fenbendazole has become so popular, there are now many vendors selling Fenbendazole for humans, of an often-unknown quality or purity.

It is advised that if one chooses to try Fenbendazole, that they use the regulated products of Safeguard or Panacur-C.

As with any health care decision, the risks and benefits must be weighed.  To assure the maximum safety while using Fenbendazole, it is advised to consult with a health care professional who is knowledgeable about its use and side effects. Click here for more information>>
